Christian Bauer GmbH + Co. KG, founded in 1880, is a well-known supplier for dependable disc springs (Belleville washers), wave springs and assemblies with vanes, rotors and housings for fluid cell pumps applied mainly in automotive industry. TS 16949 certification was implemented in 2005. High quality products can be designed to customer specifications. Examples are high loaded disc and wave springs for automatic transmissions.
The product of load and deflection
Alongside jewellery and precision parts, the company’s main turnover is generated with disc spring products. The company has been concerned with the devel- opment and production of disc springs since 1940. These products are used in just about every branch of industry – from disc springs for the humble domestic iron through to hightech products used in the aero- space industry. With the aid of finite element calcu- lations, CAD systems using the PROEngineer software for the design of three- dimensional parts, and a wellequipped laboratory for development and load cycle testing, we are ideally placed to find the ideal solution to our customers’ problems. A team of quali- fied engineers is also on hand in our development department to offer advice. Following a comprehensive program of modernization in our toolmaking shop and production department, Christian Bauer now bene- fits from a state-of-the-art machine outfit to the very highest technological specification. This has allowed us to branchb into series pro- duction not only of disc springs but also of flat springs for new fields of application, for example exhaust systems for vehicles. Christian Bauer has succeeded in patenting several such innovative products over recent years. The company also offers unrestricted scope for the selection and machining of materials. The materials we are able to process range from customary spring steel through to high-strength titanium, including the whole spectrum of heat treatment processes. Another important area of the company’s activity is the manufacture of precision blanked compo- nents using machines with a force totalling 4000 kN.
